  TASE heads south on dwindling volume

  After two consecutive days of gains, shares slid on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange yesterday. The Maof lost 0.8 percent, returning to 303 points, and the Tel Aviv 100 index dropped by 0.7 percent to 295 points. The total volume of trade stayed low at NIS 143 million.

  Compulsory car insurance reform likely to be delayed

  The Finance Ministry is unlikely to implement its plan to reform the car insurance industry by the year 2000, as originally planned. Implementation of the reform will apparently be postponed by several months, the ministry's Supervisor of Insurance Tzipi Samet announced during a board meeting at the Avner insurance company on Sunday.

  Tadiran, Manpower to computerize Yad Vashem names

  Tadiran Information Systems, of the Tadiran group, won the contract to computerize the names of the Holocaust victims collected by Yad Vashem - The Holocaust Martyrs' and Heroes' Remembrance Authority in its Hall of Names. The multinational Manpower group will provide staff for the project as a subcontractor.

  Discount group investing in UPC
